Beijing - Tiananmen Square

Welcome to Beijing, and Tiananmen Square, the Gate of Heavenly Peace. It was our first stop in Beijing, followed by the Forbidden City - the imperial palace for the now deceased imperial line. It is massive, and it is an interesting place. You have the Mausoleum of Mao Zedong among other things, and it is very clean and new. There is little to know knowledge of the occurrances of 1989 in the local population, and we were discouraged from asking about it. I did not.
