And into the Jenolan Caves

Well, as I had gone over land, into the sky, and underwater, where else was there to venture into. Obviously, if you guessed underground, you are right. Near Blue Mountains National Park, is this amazing system of caves. There are a number of guided tours and well put together walkways. They have also done an excellent job setting up the lighting and even the occassional speaker for effects or, actually, weddings. There is a room called "the cathedral" in the Lucas Cave, the first cave we toured, and there are weddings about twice a month. He said the room also had a 100% success rate for marriage proposals - until 3 weeks ago. One side of the room is pictured top left.

The caves are all limestone caves, but crystal has grown in so many areas and the colors are fantastic. How large the sytem of caves are is also pretty amazing. We toured 3 caves and there was at least another 10 tours we could have gone on. It was an absolutely awesome visit and a great place nearby to get out of Sydney.
